What We Do

Water Resources

World Watershed works with communities to develop safe drinking water resources that sustain families and protect human well-being. Our multi-disciplinary team contributes scientific expertise to implement watershed projects for communities in need while working to facilitate community involvement on ecological development projects. World Watershed employs a watershed approach to water resource management and strengthens the adaptive capacity of communities. We assist communities by characterizing watershed function and prescribing ecological design solutions that manage water quality and quantity to support both the native habitats and the people connected to the land.

Environmental Planning and Design

The World Watershed team works with communities to develop locally appropriate and sustainable solutions that integrate the cultural and ecological fabric of the region. We assess existing infrastructure and offer alternative solutions to commonly used high cost and high maintenance concrete water storage structures. Our designs provides greater flexibility for growth, works within the existing typology and is easy to construct and repurpose for future replicability and possible reuse.

Our team of dedicated planners, ecologists, engineers and architects discuss various solutions with the communities we serve to develop designs that strengthen environmental and economic well-being.

Environmental Education

Educating the next generation of environmental stewards is paramount for the long-term success of our projects. World Watershed scientists, along with their field partners, organize environmental workshops and trainings to ensure that the knowledge of their own water resources and technical expertise always stays local.

Sustainable Communites

World Watershed Alliance employs a watershed approach to water resource management. We strengthen the adaptive capacity of communities by characterizing watershed function and prescribing ecological design solutions that manage water quality and quantity to support native habitats and the people connected to the land.

Urban Agriculture

Urban Agriculture is an integral part of managing the land and water for the communities that live on them. Finding the best method of farming for a given climate or ecosystem allows each and every community to be self-sufficient and environmentally sustainable.
